David Zatara is an engineer and data scientist in Flagstaff, Arizona. He spent fifteen years in engineering, data and business, including eleven years running Sherwood Digital, a marketing agency for healthcare professionals. Today he builds free websites with the volunteers behind Hope for Americans, including Neighbor Radio, MOEx and Free Scripture, each one started by a question a neighbor asked.
David Zatara is an engineer and data scientist in Flagstaff, Arizona. He began on drill sites as a geotechnical engineer, where one thin tube of soil had to speak for a whole hillside. He still applies that lesson to every number he publishes. In 2014 he founded Sherwood Digital, a marketing agency for healthcare professionals. Over eleven years it consulted for more than 100 clients, and today its name lives on in a charity that helps congregations publish for free. Along the way he worked on UNICEF's global marketing campaigns for World Water Week, climate change and clean water, and he improved how work moved between teams at a telecom company. Since 2024 he has built free websites with the volunteers behind Hope for Americans. One of them is Neighbor Radio, which gives plain, sourced answers about the faiths, cultures and holidays of the people next door. Every site starts with a question a neighbor asked. He keeps them free because he watched the web turn into subscriptions, even the sites people reach for in a hard moment. He thinks anyone who needs help should be able to get it right away, without a bill.
